Why absolut?

How it started

“Absolut” is the Swedish spelling of the English word absolutely. The reason for the Swedish spelling is because our editor-in-chief hails from Sweden (although with East African, Ugandan to be specific, roots).

What started as a personal blog under the name “Beyond a Little Black Dress” in 2013, later grew to the blog and brand AbsolutViolette as a message to be authentically and unequivocally herself. This message has since grown encouraging you to be beautifully and unapologetically yourself.

How it’s Going

Today Absolut is an online blog with stories aimed to inspire, encourage, and give you permission to pursue your goals and dreams. Covering topics from lifestyle and entertainment, to business and faith. True to the tagline of Beyond a Little Black Dress, Absolut is “less about fashion, more about style; A lifestyle of positivity, passion & purpose.”
