Go Shorty, it's Your Birthday!
Happy birthday to my hubby!! [update: now ex-husband]. Yup, he shares his birthday with Quvenzhané Wallis (the youngest actress ever to be nominated for the Academy Award, Best Actress category and known for her role in Annie), who turns 12 today. I'm also taking this opportunity to celebrate the birth of this new blog!! So excited for what God has in store for this virtual space so having a little virtual birthday party. Not sure if that's the next new thing or even a thing. Either way, I'm stoked!
The same way God has birthed something new for me, I know He will do for you. You might still be 'pregnant' with your dream, I sure was for long over a year, but know that no matter how long your gestation period is, it doesn't negate that the fact that you're carrying a dream, a purpose.
You might have grown up similar to myself where there were basically only 4 career options: doctor, lawyer, engineer, and accountant. It's not that those were the only options available, but those were the only ones my parents found viable or "smart" choices.
This blog is dedicated to all you who have a dream of breaking out of cubicle-life. My goal is to inspire you to the point where you have no choice but to be true to you and embrace your gift, your calling.
You may not know exactly how to go about achieving what it is you want, or even where to start. I am going to do my best to help you on this journey by shedding light on different aspects of careers in entertainment, the arts, fashion, and anything else creative. A lot of these careers are nowadays not unusual at all, however, for many of us, it is taking a huge leap of faith to move away from a "guaranteed" check every two weeks. However, if there's one thing I know, it's that you can get paid doing what you love, especially in today’s day and age.
