How You Can Help Michelle Obama - Get Ready
Happy Monday!! New day, new week, and a new month shortly. Time to set new goals, and plans towards achieving those goals for the last quarter of the year. Today I want to share with you the big musical event that took place on Saturday, the Global Citizen Festival in New York.
The free festival, in support of the United Nations goals to support girls' education along with other major development goals to end world poverty, drew a crowd of over 60,000. One of the major starts that performed where Beyoncé, someone who describes herself as a modern-day feminist.
Beyoncé, a big philanthropist, has also been a huge supporter of the Obama's and friend, performing at the presidential inauguration (both times), and the first inaugural dance. It was therefore fitting that she also introduced the First Lady, Michelle Obama, who went on to promote her campaign in support of girls's education called 62milliongirls. That is the number of girls worldwide that don't have ready access to education.
The campaign involves creating a yearbook of black & white portraits shared on social media with the caption "In school I learned...[fill in the blank]. #62MillionGirls don't have that chance." Don't forget the official hashtag, as that's how you're picture will be found. The social media platform you choose to use also needs to be set to public for the picture to be seen under the hashtag search. Up to you of course. The bible says that to whom much is given, much is expected (Luk 12:48), and Beyoncé has certainly done her fair share, including her own hashtag #BeyGOOD used for her efforts to give back.
So I ask you, what good would you do, what charity would you support, if overnight, God decides to put you on the map, give you your 15 min? (Which you can turn into a lifetime with great management & PR). The Lord is a God of suddenly, in an instance He can bless you just like He did for Hezekiah.
“And Hezekiah rejoiced, and all the people, that God had prepared the people: for the thing was done suddenly.”
Important to note here is that God had prepared the people. Are you prepared? Are you ready? Will Smith said in an interview, "If you stay ready you ain't gotta get ready". So as you dream and plan for your success, make sure to have every aspect in place and ready to. Have the business account, know how you're going to go about finding your lawyer, your accountant, pic your charity, and any other details relevant to your field.
