Why You Can't Be Risk Averse In This Day & Age

Recently read Lisa Nichols article on HuffingtonPost.com about waiting in line to be poor where she discuses that America is a country that not only allows you to dream, but actually pursue your dreams.

I'm sure everyone's individual experiences have framed an opinion to whether or not this is true, however at the end of the day what it all boils down to is fear. Perhaps you tried and failed and now you're to scared to try again. Or perhaps you've never tried and are too scared to.

The thing is there's actually no time like the present. I don't say that just because it sounds good. There literally is no time like the present. The fastest growing group of entrepreneurs, as noted by Forbes, is African-American females. This is YOUR time to shine.

Take comfort in knowing that you're not alone. In the past year I've seen Mastermind Groups popping up everywhere with different career focuses. You should find actual physical support from other likeminded individuals because changing your mindset from that of an employee to entrepreneur isn't always easy. You might doubt yourself, actually you will doubt yourself and think you're crazy at times, and that's exactly why you need people that not only want to see you succeed, but will help succeed.

Everything in life is pretty much a gamble, you just have to know that pursuing your dream is a risk worth taking. You can't be risk averse, which in finance is someone who doesn't like risk as it pertains to their investments. However if you can't invest in YOU, who can you invest in. I don't care what your background, education, or track record is, you should be able to bet on yourself. You know what the wager is, so just don't give up.

You can do it, I know you can. I believe in you, and God's got you. I talk a bit more about this and faith in my Top 5 Ways to Overcome Your Past To Pursue Your Future document which you can get by signing up for my newsletter. It's free. If the pop-up no longer appears on your screen, there's an opt-in at the bottom of my "ABOUT" page which will get it right to your inbox. Happy Sunday!

Be blessed!
