Ciara's Prayer Alone Will Not Get You the Life of Your Dreams - Here's Why
Sundays are for church! Right?! Well right now many, if not most churches aren't able to meet in person because of the pandemic, so we're all doing virtual church. The pandemic has certainly forced people to take accountability for their own salvation and relationship with Christ.
There's nobody watching to check if you're watching online, nobody you have to "dress to impress" at church. It's literally you, and your heart’s desire for more God (or not). However, building a relationship with Christ can't be reserved for one day a week. Imagine if your boo-thang told you he only wants to hang out once a week. I mean how long would that relationship last? Barring any circumstances that make the relationship long-distance, you'd hope that the person who claims to love you wants to hang out and talk to you more than once a week.
Well, the same goes for your relationship with Christ. You can't reserve the conversations, aka prayer, for Sundays alone. The bible says to pray without ceasing (1 Thess 5:17). I know that seems impossible, but basically what it's saying is: good times - pray, bad times - pray, stressful times - pray, lonely times - pray, ALL the time - pray.
So then the next question might be, why? Again, it goes back to the boyfriend analogy. How can you claim to love someone you don't want to talk to. God loves us so much that He gave us His word as a form of communication, but He also speaks in a number of different ways. Actually, the Lord is always talking (because He loves us), we're the ones just not listening.
There was a time when everybody was caught up in what prayer Ciara prayed, or what Nicole Parker prayed to get their husbands. But sis, that prayer alone won't do you much good. Getting a good man is one thing. But your life is in need of so much more. And if you happen to be in a position where you're not in need of anything, you better be saying prayers of thanks to Him that has blessed you that way. Cause just ask Job, the Lord gives and the Lord can just as easily take (Job 1:21). Even the ability to work hard, God gave that to you. A lot of people may want to but circumstances or disabilities don't allow them to.
Saying all that to say, have a blessed Sunday, and don't forget the Lord throughout the week y'all! ♥
Grace & Peace!
