Faith Based Projects Making Waves In Hollywood And Why You Should Be Part Of It
I get so excited when God shows me the content to go on this blog, it further goes to prove the purpose of the blog as well. Love it! It's a testament that you don't have to see whole staricase in order to take the first step.
With that said, I've mentioned a couple of times that Hollywood is after FAITH BASED CONTENT, and upon seeing the trailer for Woodlawn, an upcoming movie premiering October 16, it confirms it even further. See for yourself.
A rising actress in this movie, who plays the lead actors love interest, is Joy Brunson. What I love about Joy's story is that she didn't major in acting, but yet here she is. Hard work and determination. What I further love is her non-profit organization, Tee2Tea, which aims to enlighten, encourage, and enrich the lives of young urban girls. It does this by instilling responsibility, accountability, dedication, and performance. This gets me so excited because that's exactly what I want for you ladies. (More on Joy and her organization here).
Just because you weren't mentored as a child, even if you were mentored, but life threw a wrench in the works, and here you are. Trust me, been there, done that, bought the T-shirt. I got an acceptance call to a University in the States, and living in Sweden, this was my dream coming true. Having to turn them down because I'd just found out I was pregnant wasn't part of my 5 year plan. But God worked it out for my good, and He's doing the same for you. Don't give up on your dreams!
If you do your part, work hard, stay persistent, be accountable (or contact me to be your accountability partner), your life outside the cubicle will become a reality. The best part is, after you've done all that you can do, God will do what He does best, show up and show out!
Just like they asked in the movie Woodlawn, do you believe in miracles? Well do you? There's a quote that says luck is what happens when hard work meets opportunity. However seeing as I don't believe in luck, I'll say miracles is what happens then. Luck assumes a coincidence, and I don't believe in those either, lol. The appointed time and timing of Lord is what it is.
With that said, you're here praying for your breakthrough, so if God gives it you on Monday but you don't have a website to direct people asking about you. You don't have a Paypal account for people wanting to pay you. AND you're email and Twitter handle are MzDropItLikeItsHot. If you want to get treated like a business, you have to start acting like a business. Like I said before, stay ready, so you don't have to get ready and you won't have to hear Kevin Hart go...
All jokes aside, if your dream has been to write, produce, sing, dance, I need to you believe in the power of your dreams. God placed it in your heart for a reason, because He will use your gift to minister to others. I especially want to encourage the authors and manuscript writers to share and produce your faith based story. The world is crying out for God, and you have no idea how your life will change, not to mention your audiences lives too by reading/seeing your testimony. Dare to believe that you can impact lives, just like in the movie.
I can't wait to hear about your upcoming projects. Comment below what you dreamed of doing as a little girl?
Be blessed!
