This weekend in Miami there's a number of conferences going on. One of which I'll touch on tomorrow, however today I want to touch on the REVOLT Music Conference headed by Puff Daddy and Fam. What is this conference all about you ask. The official website describes it as such:

“The REVOLT Music Conference is an industry event that provides a necessary environment where technology meets influencers, music executives, songwriters, producers, bloggers and music artists…The 8 panel informative experience will give industry executives a platform to breakdown topics including: the cause and effect of music, technology, and innovation in the music industry, social media, the science of curation, mobile technologies and the business of celebrity.”

#RMC2015 is officially in effect!

As you can tell technology and social media are recurring themes and you may wonder how they relate to dancing.

Technology and social media are a vital part to market yourself to get yourself known, be it as a dancer, singer, or drummer. Any entrepreneur should invest the time to manage their public profile, and if you don't have the time or interest, then pay someone to manage it for you. Social media managers are out there willing and waiting to get the job done. Obviously get someone who's on the same page as you, understands your brand, speaks your "language". Once something's been tweeted or instagramed, your audience takes that as your words, and not that of your staff. One of the panels at the conference is actually "Digital Entrepreneurs aka Content: The New Hustle."

With that said, Keith Clinkscales, CEO at Revolt Media reinforced to The Miami Times that "the purpose of the REVOLT Music Conference is to network, learn, and take advantage of the opportunities to be close to the industry’s biggest names." As important as technology is, the human face-to-face interaction is invaluable. Networking can and in many cases begins online, however attend industry events to take that relationship to the next level.

To all entrepreneurs, wanna-preneurs, REVOLT University said it best back in June, "Stop using the word 'aspiring'. Don't aspire, DO!" #EscapeTheCubicle

Be blessed!
