The Reason 5-Minute Workouts Do Work + The One Wellness App You Need
Wellness for us isn't about rocking a six-pack like Angela Bassett or Janet Jackson back in the day. Nor is it about working out 24/7 while also depriving yourself of any food that tastes yummy. Wellness here is all about what's best for your health, be it mental and/or physical. However, we know the challenge to actually get your butt in the gym can be tough. That motivation just stays lacking at times.
What we've come to discover though is a sweet spot that literally anyone can talk themselves into, and that's the 5-minute workout. Think about it. It's just FIVE minutes. Everybody has 5 minutes to spare. And so "forcing" yourself to stop what you're doing and get to sweating just got a little easier.
Now we know what you might be thinking...5 minutes?? Really?! What's that going to do anyway?? Might as well not even bother. And that's where you're wrong. There plenty of articles that state something is always better than nothing. But beyond that, 5 minutes is sometimes all you need to get your heart pumping and set you off on a great start to your day.
Adidas.com mentions how it can cause an increase in cardiometabolic health, aid in the control of blood sugar levels, and improve mental focus. If you need a midday boost out of that home-office chair, CNN.com shares these quick and easy workouts. You can either start or end your lunch break with.
In the book Atomic Habits by James Clear, he explained that the best way to form new habits is to make the path of resistance as small as possible. Make it easy to actually do, and you're more likely to do it. It's all about getting those reps in. It's the number of reps that make forming a habit more likely. And once it's a habit, talking yourself into it will be a thing of the past.
In closing, if you're looking for ideas for 5-minute workouts, there's an app for that!. Available on both Apple and Google Play, the 5 Minute Home Workout app allows you to specify what area of your body you want to focus on, so you can switch it up as you please. ♥
Until tomorrow,
Grace & Peace!
