Utilizing Social Media Consistently For Success

Social Media fot success

In search of today's story and featured dancer I didn't find that story which I felt was the right story. I aim to be particular and intentional with the content on here as it's an extension of me in that the site carries my name and therefore reflects me and what I stand for. Today, being 'Two-Step Saturday', I wanted to showcase a dancer and story that we could all learn something from, but short of that,  I'm just just going to share from my heart.

We all have dreams and aspirations, some bigger than others, but dreams all the same. And whereas some of us actually actively try to make those dreams a reality, others feel it's so far fetched so why even bother. Whether you've tried and failed, or are yet to try, keep going. Consistency, consistency, and some more consistency is really what will get you noticed. The lack of desire to be consistent may have you questioning your passion, cause I too used to think that if I love something, I'll love doing it 24/7, 365 days of the year. That just isn't true though. The difference with successful people is that they push through and show up even when they don't feel like it.

Escaping the cubicle, which is common theme around here, may have you thinking that pursuing your dream has little or nothing to do with computers. The dreams that this site focuses on may not be those behind a desk and computer, however the message that I've tried to convey is that it (the dream) will most likely start behind a computer, utilizing social media. If not a computer, then a tablet or a cellphone. So whether you feel like utilizing technology or not, you may not have much of a choice.

When it comes to being a dancer, and many other entertainment related careers, one needs to actually see the talent. This is where video becomes essential. The Guardian posted an article not long ago stating that online video is the future of content marketing. And though having studio lights, an excellent camera, and the setup of lifetime, would be nice, it's not the be-all end-all. Utilize natural lighting which is free, get creative on your surroundings, and maybe borrow a camera.

Lastly, another thing that I believe is essential to see your dreams come to life, is to have an accountability partner, someone who can push you when you get weary, encourage you, brainstorm with you, and of course, hold you accountable. Sometimes it's hard to find those type of people in our circle because everyone is too busy "keeping it real", or just want crush your dreams because they don't have any of their own. If this is your current reality, I want to extend myself to you. Please feel free to contact me, even if it's just to be a soundboard, so you don't feel like you're going crazy talking to yourself balancing your ideas. And for the record, you're not crazy :)

I pray this encouraged you.

Be blessed!
