If You Want To Go Viral - Here's What You've Got To Do
I'm sure most of you are aware of Misty Copeland and her amazing accomplishment of being the first African-American Principle Dancer at the American Ballet Theatre. When we all found out, excitement erupted, tears of joy were shed, and she instantly went viral.
But what did it actually take for Misty to get where she is? I will be the first to admit that I didn't know who Misty was 2-3 months ago. Then again, I've never been to a ballet and I grew up in Sweden, lol. My point with that though is that she made immense sacrifices and paid a price to be where she's at . She didn't just wake up one day and found herself gracing the cover of Essence Magazine. Too many people want the money and the fame, but they're not willing to put their effort in the game.
Misty not only had to overcome challenges in her career because of the shape of her body and the colour of her skin, but she also had to overcome personal family matters. Your desire to win in this game called life needs to be to the power of 10!! As much work as you think it will take to get there, multiply that by 10. The beauty of it though is that however sweet you think the taste of success is, multiply that by 10 too.
Hard work and determination is how you're going to get to where you want. It doesn't matter if you don't "look" the part, take the part and make it yours. Misty didn't "fit" the mould, so she broke it instead. Nobody can determine your worth other than you.
The natural haircare company Carol's Daughter recently started what they declare is more than just a campaign. Using the hashtag "BORNandMADE" they are empowering women to be who they are truly born and made to be.
Take this as a sign that it is now YOUR time to shine. Be who you are born to be, fearfully and wonderfully made (Ps 139:14).
God Bless!!
