Tweet’s New Single & How To Get Back Up After Life Knocks You Down

The singer Tweet is back!! For us who loved that soulful voice from the 90's will be glad to know that not much has changed judging by her new single. (Attached below - Fyi: I had that bad boy on reply for a GOOD  minute. Love it!) Tweet, also known has Charlene Keys, titled the new album Charlene and isn't trying to conform to any new musical trends but sticking to the formula that worked 10+ years ago. Whether or not that means she'll top the charts again or not isn't a concern Tweet has. She tells Essence Magazine, "I just want to put the album out and let God orchestrate it. I'll be fine."

God is also who intervened in Tweet's downward spiral of self-destruction, smoking 3 packs a day, drinking heavily, and isolating herself in depression. A depression brought about by life's trials and challenges that included a cheating boyfriend and record label drama which caused the Southern hummingbird to not want to sing. Tweet talks more about the importance of God in her life now in an interview recounted on The Boombox.

Ever been there? At the bottom of the barrel where brushing your teeth and taking a shower that day counts as a productive day. Life happens to all of us. It doesn't matter if you're rich or poor, famous or incognito. No one's immune to challenges and sorrow in life. But thank goodness for faith and the grace of God.

God used contemporary gospel singer Tonéx's song, "Make Me Over" to minister to Tweet, and she managed to quit her detrimental habits cold turkey. This is such a testament to how the spirit of God uses your gifts and talents in ways you don't even know. I mentioned yesterday that as long as the expression of your gift is rooted in love (God is the definition of love), you don't have to worry about a thing. Judging by Tweet's comment, in Essence, she seems to agree. Your duty is simply to be obedient in using the gifts awarded to you, the results are out of your hand.

So if you've found yourself in a slump where life just doesn't seem to go your way. If you've lost the passion and motivation you once had to pursue your dreams. Don't beat yourself up about it. It happens. Simply ask God to send you your angel that will stir you up again and give you the motivation to live. As seen by Tweet, even if you're out for count for over 10 years, it's never too late for your comeback.

Be blessed!
