What Rapper Eve Has Been Up To Since Tying The Knot
You haven't heard much from rapper Eve since the news that she got married two years ago. Well E-V-E is back, and this time on the screen, reprising her role in the movie Barbershop 3 - A cut above.
In an interview on JoBlo she explains that she returned to the movie franchise because she remembered how much fun she had doing the previous movies, and a 10-year lapse didn't dull her memory.
Speaking of time lapsing, what has Eve been up to lately. I headed to her Instagram to find out, and here are the 4 most interesting things I found.
1. She traveled to my former neck of the woods - Lapland!
Ok, so not quite where I grew, but neighbouring Finland is close enough, lol. Teaming up with "When you wish upon a star", Eve went to this northern region of Scandinavia to grant the wish of children battling terminal illnesses.
2. She was on a middle east tour and took the opportunity to see the pyramids...the only way one should of course, on a camel.
3. She traveled to Congo with the organization Malaika for the opening of a school library.
I'm definitely seeing a traveling theme here, lol. And according to Forbes, traveling is actually good for your health. Beyond her own health though, Eve is traveling for the good of others. Giving back and helping charities out is certainly worthy and a time well spent.
Bringing light to worthy causes is also something that Ice Cube was cognizant of in the latest installment of the Barbershop franchise. Gang violence in Chicago to be precise. In the height of the #BlackLivesMatter movement, we really need to address the part that black-on-black crime plays. Our lives matter no matter who's holding the gun, and the numbers being reported out of Chicago right now are just beyond words.
And so on a lighter note...
4. Eve has been spending quite a bit of time promoting Barbershop 3 which hits theaters on April 15th.
Hopefully the movie will not only entertain and give us a good laugh, but also help take necessary discussions to another level - namely action. Black lives still matter, and always will.
Here's the movie trailer for you in case you've managed to avoid it ;)
Stay Blessed!
